Biblioteca El Natahoyo is one of the eleven libraries of the Red Municipal de Bibliotecas de Gijón, which comes under the Fundación Municipal de Cultura, Educación y Universidad Popular of the city council. It was created in 1999 in the El Natahoyo neighbourhood, in the city’s Distrito Oeste, in the same decade that saw the opening of the El Llano, La Arena and Pumarín libraries.

The centre has a reading room, a newspaper and magazine section, children’s and young people’s, general, Asturian and local collections, a library for parents and a bibliographic reference service. It also has a media library with twelve computer stations and free broadband Internet access, where courses, reading-promotion activities and user-training sessions are organised.
