About this venue
A Caridá, known in Spanish as La Caridad, is a parish of the El Franco municipality on Asturias’ western coast, and the municipal capital. The capital was formerly in the parish of Valdepares and moved to La Caridad in 1852. Tradition attributes the name to the help its residents gave to those making the pilgrimage to Santiago.
The town grew around the Parque de María Cristina and the N-634 road. Among its attractions is Permenande beach, which has a recreation area and a pilgrim hostel, and a market is held on Tuesdays.
