About this venue
The Casa de Cultura de Castropol occupies the town’s former Teatro-Casino, a building inaugurated in 1911 that now serves as a cultural centre. The Teatro Casino building is located in Vicente Loriente park, the same address at which the Menéndez Pelayo library is found.
It is a two-storey Modernist construction, built at the beginning of the last century and designed by the Cantabrian architect Juan Miguel de la Guardia, who in 1881 had been appointed head of the technical office of the municipality of Oviedo.
