Weather data from MET Norway (Yr)
Arnao beach is the westernmost beach on the entire Asturian coastline. It belongs to the municipality of Castropol and faces the Asturian shore of the Eo estuary, which marks the boundary with Galicia here. It is about 450 metres long, with fine sand and a semi-urban setting; the cove it opens onto shelters it from the Cantabrian Sea and its waters are calm for swimming, although at high tide the sandy area shrinks considerably.
From the beach you can see the Galician and Asturian coasts, as well as the Ribadeo bridge. The Arnao recreation area is very close by, and the beach has lifeguards in summer, showers, toilets and parking. This whole stretch of coast is included in the Río Eo, Oscos y Terras de Burón Biosphere Reserve.
