La Degollada

The La Degollada Recreational Area is a rest area in the municipality of Candamo, set in a pine wood with open spaces. According to the municipal tourism portal, it was one of the first areas of its kind in the Principality: the regional Department of Agriculture and Fisheries handed it over to the town council in the late 1980s, and in 2021 the council carried out major repairs to its facilities.

It has 18 wooden tables and 36 benches, 15 barbecues (ten of firebrick and five with an iron hearth), a children’s area with swings, seesaws, a climbing net and wooden play equipment, and a cabin with toilets that is used as a bar. The site is the meeting point of routes 2 and 3 of the Espacio Histórico and serves as the base of the Centro Multideporte that bears its name, with mountain-bike and cyclocross routes and circuits.
