Las Ayalgas de Silviella is an ethnographic and industrial museum in Silviella, in the municipality of Belmonte de Miranda. It brings together a collection of antique pieces that have been recovered and fully restored, so that they still work and are used in demonstrations. Behind it is the work of Ángel Menéndez Rubio, “Forcón”, an industrialist fond of traditional Asturian culture who has spent much of the last four decades recovering hundreds of objects.
The visit is spread over several halls. The central one holds vehicles, a forge, agricultural machinery and a soda-water factory; the side halls show household objects, antique clocks, mills, a pisón de escanda (grain pounder) and kitchen and farming utensils. The site also has a restoration workshop and a café.
