XXXV Natural Cider Festival of Gijón

The XXXV Natural Cider Festival of Gijón brings together the best of Asturian cider culture with a program that runs from August 20 to August 30, 2026. This event, declared of Tourist Interest of the Principality of Asturias, is held in various locations in Gijón/Xixón and is free to access.

The heart of the festival is the Mercadín de la Sidra y la Manzana, located in the Jardines de la Reina. Its hours are:

• August 20 and 21: 11:00 to 23:00
• August 22 to August 29: 12:00 to 23:00
• August 30: 12:00 to 22:00

The program includes traditional appointments and iconic moments to enjoy cider:

• August 20, 17:30: XXXIII Cider Pouring Contest (first round) at the Plaza Mayor.
• August 21, 18:00: Simultaneous Cider Pouring Record at the Playa de Poniente.
• August 21, 22:00: Cancios de Chigre “Un de Grao” at the Plaza Mayor.
• August 22, 12:00: Homemade Cider Contest at the Plaza Mayor.
• August 22, 22:00: Cancios de Chigre at the Plaza Mayor.
• August 23, 12:00: Cider Day, presentation of the Golden Barrel and tasting at the cider mill stalls (until 14:00) at the Plaza Mayor.
• August 23, 12:30: Elogio de Oro Award at the Plaza Mayor.
• August 23, 14:00: Closing of the festival at the Plaza Mayor. 🍏
