35th Artisan Cheese Contest of Asturias in Salas

Salas becomes an essential meeting point for cheese lovers once again with the celebration of the 35th Artisan Cheese Contest of Asturias, an event that pays tribute to one of the region’s great gastronomic emblems. It is a perfect opportunity to discover, taste, and celebrate the cheese richness of Asturias in a festive and traditional atmosphere.

Program

The program begins on Saturday, April 25 with activities for all audiences:

• 17:00: Traditional children’s games and face painting at the Plaza de la Colegiata.
• 17:30: Concert by the “Escuela de Llanera” Accordion Group at the Colegiata de Santa María la Mayor.
• 19:00: Musical entertainment through the streets with the band “Los Gascones”.
• 20:00: Popular cheese tasting.

Sunday, April 26 is the big day of the contest, where the streets of Salas will be filled with producers and cheese factories, turning the town into a showcase of the best artisan Asturian cheese. 🧀
