The International Folklore Festival of Avilés celebrates its 45th edition, bringing together groups from five countries and three continents to share their intangible cultural heritage through folk music and dance. It is one of the most prominent gatherings of its kind in Spain.
Program
The festival features a series of activities spread throughout the city:
- August 19: Official reception at the Plaza de España (12:30 PM), flag raising at the Plaza de Domingo Álvarez Acebal (7:00 PM), and Mass of the Nations at the Iglesia de Santo Tomás de Canterbury (8:00 PM).
- August 20: Traditional dance performances through the streets and squares of the city center at 12:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
- August 21 and 22: Main performances at the Casa de Cultura at 7:00 PM.

Tickets for the performances at the Casa de Cultura are priced at €3 at the box office or €4 through the website (booking fees included).
