XII Historical Reenactment of the Enlistment of Pedro Menéndez

Friday, October 2, 2026 - Sunday, October 4, 2026
About the event

The rumble of 16th-century drums echoes once again in the heart of our town. During the days of October 2, 3, and 4, 2026, the streets of Avilés dress up in period attire to celebrate this historical reenactment that commemorates the moment when the Adelantado of Florida summoned the sailors to challenge the ocean.

This event, which has a twelve-year history, is a collective feat that is part of the Spanish Association of Historical Festivals and Reenactments and the European Routes of Emperor Charles V network.
