5th Symposium on Emigration in Boal

The 5th Symposium on Emigration in Boal focuses on the centenary of the work “El aporte de los indianos a la instrucción pública,” by Benito Castrillo. Under the direction of José Manuel Prieto Fernández del Viso, the meeting brings together experts from various universities to analyze the role of emigrants in the education and progress of their communities of origin.

• 11:45: Vicente Peña Saavedra on Benito Castrillo and Luis Bello, followed by Ángel Mato Díaz on school propagandists in Asturias.
• 13:00: Raúl Soutelo Vázquez on leadership and financing of schools for Americans in rural Galicia.
