About the activity
The Centro Oceanográfico de Gijón (IEO-CSIC) and the Universidad de Barcelona are organizing the ninth edition of the International Symposium on Deep-Sea Corals. Within this framework, the Universidad Popular and the Mercado Artesano y Ecológico are presenting these educational workshops for all audiences.
What does it consist of?
The activity proposes the creation of a deep-sea coral reef from the Cantábrico, crocheted. It is an experience that combines:
- Scientific outreach
- Geometry
- Art
- Traditional crochet knowledge
The project is inspired by the TRAMARES initiative, created by the Universidad Católica de Chile in 2021.
