Synopsis
The people of Tebas relive their three great myths in the form of a tragic chorus: King Oedipus searches for his father’s murderer to end the curse plaguing the city; salvation depends on revealing the most terrible secret. Eteocles, son of Oedipus, defends Tebas from the attack of his brother Polinices in a war to the death for power. Antigone, daughter of Oedipus, buries her late brother despite the law of Creonte, the city’s new ruler, who forbids the burial of the enemy.
Ay Teatro brings together several masterpieces of Greek tragedy performed by a theatrical chorus of young actors and musicians who revive the great myth of Tebas: the saga of Oedipus and his descendants. The young cast embodies all the characters of a family saga that transgresses social boundaries to the ultimate consequences, in an ethical and moral mirror where the great foundational questions of coexistence are reflected.
