TEMA, the performing arts venue on Calle La Paz in Gijón, is scheduling a photography workshop starting in November on Saturdays at noon, from 12:00 to 14:00, taught by Ricardo. Payment is per session, so you can attend individual sessions.
The workshop is designed for anyone who likes taking photos but does not know how to get more out of them, whether they use a camera, a mobile phone, or a tablet. No experience, professional camera, or photography knowledge is required: it is for all levels and you learn by doing. As the poster summarizes: “We are not just going to teach you how to use a camera. We are going to learn how to look.”
What is done in the sessions, according to the organizers:
- Learn how to look and find a good photograph.
- Experiment with light, framing, and perspective.
- Try different ways of photographing the same scene.
- Solve small photographic challenges.
- Make mistakes, try again, and discover why a photo works… or not.
- Share ideas and learn from each other.
The underlying idea is that “there is not a single way to take a photo”: you have to try, look, and discover. Places are limited to 15 people per session.
