About the event

Workshop description

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the animal and plant species that the first farmers and livestock breeders brought to the Iberian Peninsula more than 7,000 years ago, to which other foods were added throughout history.

We will show participants animal bones and seeds found at archaeological sites where cut marks, types of preservation, and traces of cooking give us clues as to how past communities stored, processed, and consumed these foods.

Led by: Leonor Peña-Chocarro and Marta Moreno García (Instituto de Historia, CSIC).
