The town of Llanes hosts the Santa María Magdalena festival, a day when all supporters of the Bando - association of neighbors guardian of traditions - celebrate the festivities with different acts, religious and festive games.

The eve of the festival, a huge eucalyptus is burned next to the Magdalena Chapel, while the young men and women of the Bando form a circle around the flames and sing the Bonfire and the Rodeo. Before, in one of the most anticipated moments by the people of Llanes throughout the year, the men of the Bando dressed in the porruano costume, will have carried it on their shoulders through the main streets of the town.
