Quemas. Procesos para una geografía del desastre is an exhibition project by photographer Noé Baranda that can be visited throughout the month of November at the Casa de Cultura María Josefa Canellada, in Santolaya de Cabranes. The exhibition comes to the council through the Asturies, Cultura en Rede visual arts circuit.
The starting point is the fires that devastated Asturias in the spring of 2023. From that destroyed landscape, the author presents a photographic study that seeks to unsettle the spectator through the beauty of the sublime and functions as a visual essay on how territory is perceived and how human action transforms it.
Features of the proposal:
- Photographic installation with an anthropological perspective, focused on the relationship between human beings and the landscape.
- Intimate project with an educational objective: to raise awareness of the need to change land use practices.
- Designed to help understand the context in which people live today in the Asturian rural environment.
Practical information: from November 2 to 30, 2026 at the Casa de Cultura Mª Josefa Canellada (Santolaya, 33310 Cabranes). The official sheet does not detail visiting hours or price; for inquiries, the culture house can be reached at 985 898 002.
