Description
Spring has always been a symbol of rebirth, and this year that spirit comes to life at the Atlantic Botanical Garden, which reinvents itself in 2026 with new proposals and spaces to enjoy.
2026 News
- Incorporation of the La Isla house: The Garden grows with the historic La Isla house and its landscaped surroundings. Thanks to the acquisition by the Gijón City Council, the legacy of Mr. Florencio Valdés is preserved. The public will be able to access this space for the first time during the anniversary, on April 25 and 26.
- 1st Plant Fair: On June 6 and 7, the city will bring together some of the best producers from Spain, France, Portugal, and the Netherlands. The event will offer unique plants, crafts, talks, music, and complementary activities.
Featured activities
- Easter: Search for the giant painted eggs and new adventures of Pietro Ataulfo del Camino (Pitu Caleya).
- Swift Festival: New edition from June 12 to 14.
- Reading Club: Three sessions dedicated to each book that include commentary, a guided tour of the Garden, and meetings with authors.
- Conference cycle: “Chatting with the Botanist”.
- The dawn chorus: A unique opportunity to discover the Garden at dawn while listening to the birdsong.
- Workshops and tours: Proposals aimed at people with disabilities, ornithological tours (second Sunday of each month), free guided tours, and a wide range of workshops are maintained.
- Special workshop: Growing aquatic plants at home, on the occasion of World Water Day (March 22).
