The SUATEA union and the Hoja de Lata publishing house present the book “En la escuela del capitalismo” in Xixón, a work by Nico Hirtt and Cécile Gorré translated by the teacher Beatriz Quirós. This updated edition analyzes neoliberal educational policies and their direct impact on current public education.
The presentation will take place on September 28 at the Sala de Conferencias del Centro Cultura Antiguo Instituto. During the event, the translator Beatriz Quirós will participate alongside the authors to delve into the key themes of the book.
Discussion topics 📚
The meeting will serve to reflect on the current challenges of the educational community, addressing issues such as:
- The impact of new technologies and AI in the classroom.
- The growing privatization of educational systems.
- The arrival of large companies in vocational training.
- The lack of funding and the abandonment of public schools in favor of private centers.
This work arrives 25 years after the classic “Los nuevos amos de la escuela” to offer a renewed vision on how education is subjected to the demands of employers and companies. It is a key event to understand the mechanisms that govern educational policies in the European Union and their impact on the teaching staff.
