Artist book presentation. Pablo Casanueva: La imaxe, lo tapecío

The artist Pablo Casanueva presents the artist book for his project “La imaxe, lo tapecío” and offers a guided tour of his exhibition of the same name at the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto. This session allows you to learn firsthand how the author uses photography and film to reconstruct the political memory of his maternal family and the repression suffered by Asturian families.

The event will take place on Thursday, September 3 at 7:30 PM in Sala 1 of the center. During the event, the artist will be accompanied by:

• Pablo Casanueva, artist of the exhibition.
• Natalia Alonso Arduengo, curator of the exhibition and author of one of the texts in the book.
• Irene Faza, archaeologist and writer, also a participant in the publication. 📖

The exhibition is the result of a deep artistic investigation where Casanueva analyzes his family photographic archive from the perspective of the fourth generation of the war. Through his work, the author proposes a contemporary reading of the life paths of his ancestors and the silences of history. 🎞️
