Between 1840 and 1940, more than 300,000 young people left Asturias bound for America in search of a better life. In 1880, 21% of these migrants were women, and by 1920, the percentage had risen to 40%. Each individual journey, each personal odyssey, contributed to a global change. We are the children of emigration.
Starting from that reality, Postales rotas offers the portrait of a historical process that has always been told by men. And it does so with a woman’s voice.
