About the event

The third day of Pint of Science will be dedicated to “Planet Earth,” broadening our perspective on how our decisions and technologies impact the environment we are a part of. We will reflect on the challenge of managing complex waste, such as that from renewable energy sources, and on how pollution generated thousands of kilometers away can reach places as remote as Antarctica. Two examples that remind us that, even if it doesn’t always seem like it, everything is connected. 🌍

Featured talks

  • Wind turbine materials, where do we put them? by Luis Cano Santa Bárbara (Researcher at Campus de Soria, Universidad de Valladolid). We will analyze the challenges of waste management in wind energy.
  • Is Antarctica the limit of pollution? by Silvia Pinardo Barco (Researcher at Campus de Soria, Universidad de Valladolid). We will discover how chemical pollutants travel long distances to reach remote ecosystems.
