Pablo Dávila Producciones "Working progres - Foguera". Escena Xixón 2026

About the event

If you are looking for an experience that connects the ancestral with the contemporary, you cannot miss this unique proposal. It is a fascinating opportunity to explore how repetitive movement unites us, from ancient tribal dances to the vibrant energy of current raves.

The event will take place on April 27, 2026 at 18:00 at the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto. Admission is free until full capacity is reached, so I recommend arriving early so you don’t miss this 15-minute piece. In addition, at the end of the performance, there will be a post-show meeting to discuss the experience.

About the work

Foguera is the new creation by Pablo Dávila, who debuts as an independent creator after a brilliant career that has earned him two Oh! Awards for Best Male Performance. In this piece, the artist reflects on the transformative power of movement, posing suggestive questions: what do a DJ and a shaman have in common? Why do we continue to seek that communal connection through dance?

This project has been selected in the 2025/2026 call for applications by El Palacio, Residencias artísticas y acción cultural del Ayuntamiento de Gijón/Xixón. It is an essential appointment within the Escena Xixón 2026 program for those who enjoy performing arts that invite reflection and trance.
