
If you are passionate about swimming and love the challenge of open water, you cannot miss the next edition of OCEANMAN in Gijón. It is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the sea in a spectacular setting, surrounding the iconic Cerro de Santa Catalina while you test your endurance. 🌊
The event will be held on September 5 and 6, 2026 at the Playa de Poniente o de Pando, with activities scheduled from 10:00 to 16:00. The 5K race is part of the XIII Circuito de Travesías a Nado Gijón 2026 and is the 18th stage of the Copa de España de Aguas Abiertas RFEN 2026.

Race Program 🏊
The weekend will be packed with action featuring different distances and categories:
- Saturday, September 5 (from 10:15): The Oceanteams (3x500m relays), Sprint (1,500m), Oceanfins (1,500m fins), and Oceankids (500m for children aged 7 to 14) races will take place.
- Sunday, September 6 (from 9:00): The long-distance races arrive: Oceanman 10K (with a route from Playa de San Lorenzo to Playa de Poniente) and Half-Oceanman 5K (scoring for the Copa de España RFEN).

The complete competition route is impressive: the path spans from the Playa de San Lorenzo to the Ría de los Vagones, surrounding the Cerro de Santa Catalina until reaching the Playa del Arbeyal, to finally return to the Playa de Poniente, where the entire event will be centralized.
