This concert offers a fascinating journey through French vocal music, both solo and choral, from the 15th to the 20th century, encompassing both secular and sacred works. The program reflects the enormous international influence of the French school, from the presence of Josquin and Lasso in the Italian courts to the decisive mentorship of Nadia Boulanger, who was a pivotal teacher in the careers of figures such as Stravinsky, Copland, and Bernstein.
