In this session of Pint of Science, we explore the footprint that the past and resource management leave on our planet. From the analysis of bones that preserve the marks of colonialism to innovative solutions for recovering aquifers in Canarias, this session invites us to listen to what the earth has to tell us.
Speakers and topics
- Jared Carballo Pérez (Universidad de La Laguna): Will present the CORPUSCOLONIA project, analyzing how inequality and colonial exploitation were inscribed in skeletal remains and how these past violences resonate in our present day.
- Megan Expósito Brazier (Universidad de La Laguna): Will present the European project GENESIS, focused on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to combat water scarcity and the overexploitation of aquifers in the Canary archipelago.
