On the occasion of the 140 years of the publication of The Regent , the Ministry of Culture commissions Kamante Theatre to prepare a dramatized reading at the Asturias Library. The praise received and the interest generated encourage the company to develop the work and give it a more scenic format.
The proposal is developed with a mixed format, between object theatre, dramatization and interpretation, as a flexible format show. The project aims to disseminate the legacy of one of the most significant novels of the 19th century, encouraging its knowledge. In addition to confronting the naturalism of the text and its episodic character with the symbolism of object theatre and stylistic figures, a visual narrative inspired by the text of Leopoldo Alas Clarín is used.
