THE BIODIVERSITY LOSS CRISIS. Causes, consequences, and solutions

About the talk

Despite constant scientific warnings about the human impact on nature, the failure to implement necessary social changes has led to exceeding planetary boundaries. This has triggered a serious climate crisis and the degradation of 60% of the ecosystem services fundamental to our survival, such as food, water, and health. 🌎

However, not all is lost. The session, organized by the Universidad Popular within the Foro de Mujeres El Llano, invites us to reflect on how modifying policies, changing personal habits, and a new way of relating to the environment can guarantee the survival of our species.

Speaker

The talk will be led by Nicolás López-Jiménez, delegate of SEO/BirdLife in Asturias, species and spaces unit. It will be an excellent occasion to learn from an expert about the necessary steps to protect our environment. 🦉
