The picture book Alegría, with texts by Virginia Read Escobal and illustrations by Ilemi Cuesta Mier, serves as a starting point for this reading promotion workshop. The activity invites participants to explore how memory, culture, and family stories can be transformed into a source of joy and resilience.
After the reading, a space for artistic creation is proposed where words and images engage in dialogue. Each attendee will be able to create their own “Carpeta de Alegría”, a personal and symbolic object designed to gather words, colors, and symbols inspired by the work. It is an ideal opportunity for children to connect with literature through creative expression.
