Teatro del Cuervo presents at Casa de Cultura de Noreña “Kanpai!”, a fun and educational theatrical piece that brings Asturian and Japanese cultures into dialogue through their traditional beverages: cider and sake, both recognized as intangible cultural heritage. It is part of the Cider Culture line of the Asturies, Cultura en Rede program.
The play shows that, despite the distance, both traditions share values linked to identity, ritual, and community. Along the way, it raises questions such as how they are similar and how they differ, what the ritual of each drink is like, how many types of rice there are for sake, or how many apple varieties there are for cider.
The performance ends with a practical cider-pouring masterclass.
