
The 29th Alzheimer’s Disease Conference commemorates World Day 2026 with a series of presentations focused on genetic research and ethics in caregiving. The meeting will feature the participation of experts from the healthcare and academic fields to address the current challenges of this disease.
The conference will be held in the Salón de actos Escuela de Comercio. Below, I detail the program scheduled for the session:
- Institutional opening: Concha Mena, President of ADAFA Alzheimer Asturias, together with representatives of the local and regional administration.
- Presentation: “Alzheimer’s type dementia: translating research into healthcare,” by Dra. Doña Victoria Alvarez (Head of Genetics/Genomics Service) and Doña Cristina Tomás Zapico (Tenured Professor at the Universidad de Oviedo).
- Presentation: “Caring without restraining: an ethical and caregiving challenge,” given by Don Fernando Martinez Cuervo (Care, Quality and Safety Director, Social-Health Coordination and Knowledge Management of the Organismo Autónomo ERA). 🧠
