Heritage Itineraries: Candamo

This route is part of the Itinerarios por el Patrimonio program, an initiative that travels through the 78 Asturian councils to highlight their most unique cultural and natural resources. On this occasion, the day focuses on the council of Candamo.

Program

• Hiking route: A 4.5 km linear route (round trip) of low difficulty between Ventosa and Villanueva.
• Centro de Interpretación de la Caverna de Candamo: Visit to the Palacio de Valdés-Bazán, where reproductions of the Muro de los Grabados and the Camarín are located.
• Cueva de La Peña: Visit to this site declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
• Grullos: Free time to walk through the capital of the council, highlighting its traditional architecture, Indiano houses, and the surroundings of the Ayuntamiento.

Schedule

The meeting point will be in Oviedo/Uviéu (C/ Mendizábal, in front of the Teatro Filarmónica) at 09:00, with departure at 09:15 from the bus stop at C/ Argüelles, 7. The return is scheduled for approximately 19:00.
