Heritage Itineraries. Candamo

Discover the historical and natural wealth of Candamo on this cultural day trip designed to enjoy Asturian heritage. The experience combines a gentle hiking route between Ventosa and Villanueva with a guided visit to the Centro de Interpretación de la Caverna de Candamo, where you can admire reproductions of the paintings from the Cueva de La Peña, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Program

• Hiking route: Linear route of 4.5 km (round trip) of low difficulty between Ventosa and Villanueva.
• Cultural visit: Exploration of the Centro de Interpretación de la Caverna de Candamo at the Palacio de Valdés-Bazán.
• Free time: Time to eat and walk around Grullos, the capital of the council, admiring its traditional architecture, Indiano houses, and hórreos.

• Meeting point: Departure at 09:00 from C/ Mendizábal (in front of the Teatro Filarmónica) and at 09:15 from C/ Argüelles, 7 (Oviedo).
• Return: Arrival in Oviedo scheduled for 19:00.
