About the event

This guided itinerary by Aurora Valdés Caso proposes a formal and socio-spatial comparison between the planned steel town of Llaranes and the mining colony of La Camocha in industrial Asturias during the second half of the 20th century. The tour analyzes domestic architecture and community facilities as tools for social hierarchy, ideological control, and identity integration.
