Interspecies Transduction Graphs by María Castellanos Vicente and Alberto Valverde

This artistic project by María Castellanos Vicente and Alberto Valverde explores the complex relationships of coexistence between humans and non-human beings, with a special focus on the native flora of Asturias. Through situated research, the authors generate graphic representations that respond to the conditions of the natural environment through a proposal that combines technology, nature, and art. 🌿

The work is articulated through three main elements:

• The drawing machine: a device designed for the transduction of environmental data.
• Field drawings: poetic and original representations created during field trips based on the conditions of the plants and their habitat.
• Audiovisual documentation: a performative record that shows the creation process in real time. 🎥

This exhibition invites us to reflect on our connection with the natural environment and the ways in which other species inhabit the planet alongside us.
