Final Gala of the 5th Edition of the EVG Choral Composition Competition

Would you like to enjoy a morning full of talent and new music? The Final Gala of the 5th Edition of the EVG Choral Composition Competition is a fantastic opportunity to discover the future of Asturian choral music in an unbeatable setting. 🎶

The event will take place on May 31, 2026 at 12:00 at the Teatro Jovellanos. Tickets are priced at 5€ and you can purchase them through online sales.

This competition is a key platform for young composers to showcase their creations and contribute to renewing the choral repertoire of our region. During the gala, the finalist works selected by the jury, composed of Mar Norlander, Julio Domínguez and Jorge Costas, will be premiered, with Pachi Poncela as the presenter.

Musical protagonists 🎤

The performance of the pieces will be carried out by two luxury groups:

• ENSAMBLE VOCAL GIJÓN (works for mixed choir)
• CORO INFANTIL ARSIS, from the Escuela de Música Divertimento (works for children’s choir)

Event dynamics

The gala is very special because the audience will have an active role: you will be able to participate in the awarding of the second prize for the mixed choir works. In addition, the Ensamble Vocal Gijón will offer a retrospective featuring the winning works from previous editions.

After the performance of the finalist pieces, the jury’s decision will be announced and, to close on a high note, the winning works of this edition will be performed again. Don’t miss it! ✨
