Portal Festivals. Villaviciosa

Villaviciosa celebrates its traditional Portal Festivals in honor of its patron saint, Nuestra Señora del Portal. For six days, the town is filled with life with a program that combines religious acts, Asturian folklore, sports competitions, and an intense cultural and festive agenda for all audiences.

Featured activities

• Tradition and folklore: Solemn mass, procession, and the iconic Danza del Portal, as well as folk song festivals and bagpipe band parades.
• Sport: The LXXXI Ría de Villaviciosa Canoe Regatta, the National Cycling Circuit, and the LI National Motocross.
• Gastronomy: Natural cider, cider pourer, tortilla, and empanada contests, along with the traditional street meal.
• Leisure: Concerts, open-air dances with orchestras, circus shows, and children’s activities such as the Parke-Portal and drawing contests.

The celebrations culminate with the Día del Conceyu, which includes a grand fireworks display to close the festivities.
