Indian Festival in Puerto de Vega

Puerto de Vega celebrates its fifth edition of the Indian Festival, an event dedicated to honoring the memory of those who emigrated to America in search of a better future. Under the theme of Nostalgia and Longing, the 2026 program pays tribute to key local figures and offers a cultural immersion into the Indian legacy.

The celebration transforms the town’s streets with a varied cultural offering:

• Indian Market: Commercial space with a period atmosphere.
• Parades and vehicles: Route through the streets with the arrival of the traditional “haigas” (classic vehicles).
• Music and shows: Performances by mariachis, Caribbean music, open-air dances, and vermouth sessions.
• Culture: Talks, theater, and folklore that connect the present with the history of Asturian emigration.

The official inauguration will take place on Friday, July 24, giving way to a weekend full of activities for all audiences.
