Spring Picadillo and Sabadiego Festival in Noreña
Spring Picadillo and Sabadiego Festival in Noreña
Noreña hosts every spring, coinciding with the feast of Saint Mark, patron of butchers, the Spring Picadillo and Sabadiego Festival.
The picadillo is one of the dishes that characterize Noreña. The sabadiegos are sausages made from blood, lean meat, and onion. The Order of the Sabadiego is in charge of promoting this product and the festival. Each year one of its guests reads the proclamation of the festivals, to which other brotherhoods of this type from all over Spain and southwestern France attend.
The Picadillo and Sabadiego Festivals will open, as is tradition, with the floral offering that the users of Adepas star in the statue of Pedro Alonso.
