The pianist Kyu Yeon Kim will be the star of one of the great symphonic events of the Festival Internacional de Piano de Gijón, together with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias (OSPA) and under the baton of Miguel Sepúlveda.

Kyu Yeon Kim is an internationally renowned pianist, awarded in prestigious competitions such as the Dublin International Piano Competition, the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, the Cleveland International Piano Competition, and the Geneva International Music Competition. She has performed in some of the most important venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and the Seoul Arts Center, and as a soloist with orchestras such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Cleveland Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Belgium, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Trained at institutions such as the Curtis Institute of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, where she earned her Doctor of Musical Arts, she is currently an associate professor of piano at Seoul National University.

The program will be dedicated to Ludwig van Beethoven.
