Kamante Teatro presents a dramatized reading that celebrates the 140th anniversary of the publication of La Regenta at the Biblioteca de Asturias. This theatrical proposal uses humor and object theater to revive the map and the people of Vetusta through the eyes of two servants.
The play focuses on a conversation between these two characters while they clean the library windows, a moment when they begin to gossip about the impact of Clarín’s latest work in the city of Oviedo. As the plot progresses, the servants constantly break the fourth wall and address the audience as if they were authentic Vetustans, becoming the protagonists of the story themselves.
This mixed format combines performance with object theater to explore the contradictions of the literary city and its peculiar humanity. It is an opportunity to approach the work of Clarín from a close, complicit perspective filled with humor.
