ARCU ATLÁNTICU FESTIVAL. Exhibition. Postcards in Memory of Ígor and Carlos

About the event

This exhibition brings together the posters and postcards created in memory of Ígor Medio Tuya and Carlos Redondo, artists who passed away in 2006, whose musical career gave rise to a series of festivals and labor demands in the sector. The exhibition collects the graphic legacy of these gatherings, from the first festival poster in 2007 at the Playa de Poniente to the works commissioned from visual artists between 2014 and 2015.

The exhibition is located in Sala 1 del Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto and can be visited for free.

Visiting hours 🗓️

  • Monday to Friday: from 9:00 to 21:00
  • Saturdays: from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00
  • Sundays and holidays: from 11:00 to 14:00

The exhibition tour allows visitors to learn about the evolution of this tribute, which began with small-format concerts between 2008 and 2012. In 2013, the project took on a protest-oriented nature by touring the city’s live music venues to denounce the job insecurity of musicians, a message that was consolidated with the reading of a manifesto at each performance.

Subsequently, in 2014 and 2015, the remembrance was transformed into a series of artistic postcards published during the month of June. These pieces, together with the original posters, make up the main body of this exhibition that celebrates the memory of Ígor and Carlos through visual creation and commitment to the musician’s craft.
