This work by Bertolt Brecht, created in collaboration with Elisabeth Hauptmann and with music by Kurt Weill, is an updated revision of the musical parody “The Beggar’s Opera” by John Gay. The piece, originally premiered in Berlin in 1928, offers a raw vision of capitalism and denounces misery and the abuse of power in times of economic crisis.
Cast
The production features an outstanding cast that includes Coque Malla, Carmen Barrantes, Omar Calicchio, Paula Iwasaki, Miquel Mars, Cristina García, Andrea Guash, Pablo Novoa, and Néstor Ballesteros, under the direction of Mario Vega and the musical direction of Miguel Malla.
Tickets
The ticket price is 32€. They can be purchased through the official website of the Centro Niemeyer or at the box offices of the Centro Niemeyer and the Casa de Cultura. There are special discounts for students, members of the Club Cultura Principado de Asturias, and young people under 30 years of age (subject to availability).
