About the work

Meeting Philip is a visual, sound, and sculptural installation that functions as a “Frankenstein robot,” built from various audiovisual devices. The piece takes as its starting point the legendary lecture that science fiction author Philip K. Dick gave in 1977, where he proposed the possibility that our world was a computer system designed by a “programmer” capable of rewriting the past.

Through this proposal, Eric Vernhes uses archival material to elevate Dick’s words to an epic dimension, almost as if it were an opera libretto. It is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a universe where déjà vu and parallel realities intertwine, inviting us to reflect on our connection with time and the world that surrounds us. ✨
