VA. Verdeyazul Autumn Kickoff

This event proposes a journey into the past through visual and performing arts, using the black light technique to recreate the traditional trades and customs of Asturias. The proposal combines a theatrical piece about the cultural clash between the countryside and the city with an immersive creative experience to bring the experiences of ancestors closer to new generations.

In the theatrical part, a village woman who is excitedly preparing for the amagüestu meets a city girl, leading to a conversation in amestao and Spanish that explores traditional dress, mythology, riddles, and Asturian culture. This play demonstrates that it is not necessary to choose between popular wisdom and current times, revealing that neither the woman is as traditional nor the girl as modern as it seems.

On the other hand, the black light workshop allows for adding color and brightness to regional history, recreating tasks such as work in the mine, livestock farming, agriculture, and fishing, all accompanied by traditional songs.
