Miguel Rodríguez Monteavaro received the Xuan María Acebal Prize for poetry in Asturian in 2024 with the work Al disparar never starts.
Miguel Rodríguez Monteavaro (Bual, 1990) writes in Galician from Asturias and in Asturian. He has published six books of poetry: All the sad ones of May (2013), Poems for lovers and elephants (2013), Thirty reasons not to grow (2020), Superpowers (2020), Hey, mom says you should come back (2023) and The light, Orion and the new light (2024). In addition, Monteavaro was a winner of several literary awards, including the XIX Xeira Short Story Prize, the XIX Padre Galo Poetry Prize, the Asturias Young Poetry Prize or the I Ría del Eo Poetry Prize. On the other hand, in 2021 he achieved the Asturies Residency in A Coruña, and in 2023 the Performing Arts Residency of LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation.
