Miguel Rodríguez Monteavaro received the Xuan María Acebal Poetry Prize in Asturian in 2024 for his work Al disparar nunca parte.
Miguel Rodríguez Monteavaro (Bual, 1990) writes in Asturian Galician and Asturian. He has published six poetry books: Todos os tristes de mayo (2013), Poemas pr’amantes y paquidermos (2013), Trenta razóis pra nun medrar (2020), Superpoderes (2020), Oi, que dice mamá que volvas (2023) and A lluz, Orión e a nova lluz (2024).
In addition, Monteavaro has won several literary awards, including the XIX Xeira Short Story Prize, the XIX Padre Galo Poetry Prize, the Asturias Joven Poetry Prize, and the I Ría del Eo Poetry Prize. Furthermore, in 2021 he was awarded the Asturies Residency grant in A Coruña, and in 2023 the Performing Arts Residency grant from LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial.
