If you are passionate about history and music, you cannot miss this unique opportunity to discover the voices that were silenced for centuries. Harpist Sara Águeda invites us to a fascinating encounter to explore the role of women musicians in the Renaissance, far beyond the walls of convents. 🎶
The event will take place in the Salón de actos de la Biblioteca Pública Jovellanos. In this lecture, the artist will present the historical and sonic reconstruction work behind her program Ellas Renacen.
About the encounter
This sonic and historical journey allows us to recover the memory of figures such as Isabel de Plazaola, a singer and player from the 16th century linked to noble circles whose trace remained hidden for a long time. The project is based on the musicological research of Ascensión Mazuela-Anguita, which has been fundamental to documenting the presence of women musicians in social and cultural spheres outside the religious framework. 📜
