At a cozy Christmas party, young Clara meets the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer, who gives her a nutcracker doll. When the guests leave and everyone in the house is asleep, Clara goes downstairs in search of the doll, but instead, she encounters Drosselmeyer, who magically transports her to an enchanted world: incredible landscapes of swirling snow and a sparkling fantasy, in which toys come to life and the magic never ends. Peter Wright’s production of this Christmas classic for the whole family dazzles, accompanied by the wonderful display of Tchaikovsky’s orchestral score and the brilliance and majesty of Julia Trevelyan Oman’s period costumes.
