This talk proposes a visual journey through the presence of the apple in art and cultural imagery, exploring how it has been represented throughout history with meanings that oscillate between the divine, the moral, and the everyday. From the myths of Antiquity to its central role in Asturian cider culture, the apple is analyzed as a symbol, landscape, labor, and shared tradition.
The journey concludes with a detailed analysis of the work of two fundamental figures of Asturian painting: Evaristo Valle and Nicanor Piñole.
